This fundraising effort started approximately 3 weeks ago, and should last for another 2-3 weeks. Representatives asking for donations should have a photo ID and wear a fire station shirt, identifying them as being a part of OMVFCo.
If you have any concerns or issues, please call the station at 410-363-1933.
Below is a list of our representatives. They should be carrying an ID card similar to what is pictured.
The last 24 hours have been extremely busy for the members of OMVFCo. The first fire was dispatched on March 7th around 11:30pm as a dwelling fire in Garrison. Units found and extinguished a vehicle that was on fire next to a house. After clearing that fire, Truck 313 was alerted for a second alarm fire in Lutherville. T313's crew first assumed RIT, and then was assigned to roof operations and assisted with ventilation.
Just after 2:30pm on March 8th, units from OMVFCO were alerted for a dwelling fire in Chestnut Ridge VFC's district. And after that fire, unites were alerted for a second fire in Station 50's area.
In total, our crews were on active fire scene's for more then 8 hours today.
Around 2045 hours on February 10, 2017, stations in the northwest corridor were alerted for a dwelling fire on Austin road in Reisterstown. This call brought units from Franklin (station 56), Reisterstown VFC (station 41) and Owings mills VFC (station 31). First arriving units found smoke showing and an active kitchen fire. Engine 312 and Truck 313 (both from OMVFCO) assumed duties of ventilation and laddering the dwelling. The fire was quickly extinguished and units operated approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.
We wanted to keep everyone updated on Santa's schedule. At the current time, we are down to one piece of fire apparatus. Between running emergency calls, selling Christmas trees, and the weather, our volunteers are finding it challenging to tour all of Owings Mills with Santa on one fire engine. We are doing our best to reach all of the areas in our given time frame. We do not want to be out too late so that we don't wake up kids with our loud sirens.
We will keep you updated of any changes. But, your best notification may just be listening for loud circling sirens in your neighborhood between 6pm-830pm.
On Saturday, December 10th, Engine 312 and Utility 318 responded with 7 personnel to a house fire in the district of Liberty Road VFC (station 46). E312 took a hose line to the basement where the fire originated from the furnace area.
At tonight's meeting, we recognized member William "Mr Bill" Howard on 75 years of service to OMVFCo. Thank you Mr. Bill for your years of service to the community.
